The Spring 2023 couture reveals started in Paris with a visual phenomenon at Schiaparelli. Influenced by Dante Alighieri’s Inferno, the program saw supermodels Shalom Harlow, Irina Shayk, and Naomi Campbell move down the catwalk in appearances decorated with animal heads made from foam.
When it comes to the appeal, Daniel Roseberry’s signature surreal gold-plated faces were brought to life with glowing bronze-gold face and body paint, blurring the limits in between genuine bodies and inanimate items.
” Schiaparelli’s collection is a seductive mix of womanhood and masculinity,” states makeup artist Pat McGrath. To attain the appearance, McGrath raised design skin tones with a mix of Divine Skin: Rose 001 The Essence and Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection on some, tending to others with her brand-new Love Collection FetishEyes: Liquid Eye Shadow in Platinum Bronze. “The outcome is an enchanting canvas of glowing, multi-dimensional, and luminescent appeals,” she states. “Expressive of superb sculptures; a real banquet for the eyes.”
And After That there’s Doja Feline. Extending this concept of a live sculpture onto the front row, McGrath and her group decorated the vocalist with crimson Swarovski crystals for a “sparkling, scintillating and subversive appearance.” “Working together with the incomparably gifted Doja Feline and Daniel Roseberry was an outright enjoyment,” McGrath states. “Her persistence and devotion as she sat with Group Pat McGrath and I for 4 hours and 58 minutes to attain the development, covered in over 30,000 hand-applied Swarovski crystals, was really motivating.”
