Ava Max’s “Lovin Myself” tops today’s brand-new music survey.
In a survey released Friday (May 30) on Signboard, music fans picked the pop vocalist’s most current single as their preferred brand-new release of the previous week.
” Lovin Myself” generated 57% of the vote, vanquishing brand-new releases from artists like Tate McRae (” Simply Keep Seeing”), Miley Cyrus ( Something Gorgeous), Lorde (” Male of the Year”), Leon Thomas ( Dog Deluxe: HEEL), Yeule ( Evangelic Lady Is a Weapon), and others.
” Lovin Myself” doubles down on Max’s streak of self-empowerment, with the vocalist stating, “I do not require no one, I’m lovin’ myself!” as warm synths rain down on her voice.
Max exposed in early May that her 3rd album, Do Not Click Play, will be showing up on Aug. 22. The upcoming set functions lead single “Lost Your Faith.”
The album cover sees Max braving the heat within a triangle of fire, her hands grasping its burning edges– possibly a visual metaphor for the fire-emoji energy she desires listeners to feel when they struck play. The triangle itself looks like the familiar sign for a play button. In April, she directed fans to DontClickPlayOnAvaMax.com, a website camouflaged as an online petition that skillfully teased an unreleased track.
Do Not Click Play follows 2023’s Diamonds & & Dancefloors (which reached No. 34 on the Signboard 200) and 2020’s launching Paradise & & Hell (which peaked at No. 27 and included her advancement single “Sugary food However Psycho,” a leading 10 struck on the Signboard Hot 100 in 2018).
Positioning 2nd in the survey was Tate McRae’s “Simply Keep Seeing”, which got almost 15% of the vote. The fast-moving club track is included in the F1 movie soundtrack.
