Because of Cassie’s current suit versus Diddy, Kesha is reassessing the lyrics of her breakout struck single “TiK ToK.”
The 36-year-old artist, who is presently on her Only Love Trip, struck Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium on Saturday night and carried out “TiK ToK” as the 2nd tune in her set. In the 2009 tune’s opening line, Kesha sang, “Get up in the early morning sensation much like me”– a clear modification from the initial lyrics: “Get up in the early morning sensation like P. Diddy.” The pop star continued the tune without any extra lyrical modifications.
The lyric modification comes a day after Cassie Ventura and Diddy (genuine name Sean Combs) settled her suit versus the music magnate, in which the “Me and U” vocalist took legal action against Diddy for over a years’s worth of supposed abuse. The suit declared that the vocalist went through numerous physical poundings and was persuaded into “sex acts with male sex employees” as Combs masturbated and viewed. Other grievances in the court filings specified that when Ventura attempted separating from Combs in 2018, he “required her into her home and raped her while she consistently stated ‘no’ and attempted to press him away.”.
Ventura and Combs’ settlement took place simply 24 hr after the filing, a choice that she stated permitted her to “fix this matter agreeably on terms that I have some level of control.” The declaration– provided late Friday night by her lawyer, Douglas Wigdor– continued, “I wish to thank my household, fans and legal representatives for their steadfast assistance.”.
Combs reacted with a declaration of his own, including, “We have actually chosen to fix this matter agreeably. I want Cassie and her household all the very best. Love.” On Nov. 19, the manufacturer’s attorney, Ben Brafman, kept in mind that “a choice to settle a claim, particularly in 2023, remains in no chance an admission of misdeed” and “does not in any method weaken his flat-out rejection of the claims.”
