George Clooney Jokes He’s ‘Proud’ of Burglars Who Robbed Louvre

George Clooney‘s tipping his cap to the burglars who shook down the Louvre in Paris … lionizing from one expert burglar to another.

The star spoke with Range at AFI Fest previously today … and, the he discussed the burglars who pulled a quick one on the renowned French museum– with Clooney even revealing a joking pride.

Clooney stated, “If you’re an expert burglar like I am, I was extremely pleased with those guys.”

It’s all one huge gag– Clooney likewise calls the theft “dreadful” while revealing shock at the burglars’ brazen actions– however, it definitely invoked concerns about the upcoming “Ocean’s 14.”

George, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon and the whole crew are getting back together for another daring onscreen heist — and George also said  they should consider robbing the Louvre since everyone else seems to be doing it.

ICYMI … the Louvre closed after a significant break-in last weekend that resulted in burglars leaving with 9 pieces from the fashion jewelry collection of Napoleon and Empress Eugénie– a loot of inestimable worth. Eugénie’s crown was discovered broken outside the museum.

Video later on came out revealing a burglar sawing through a glass case in the museum, and the museum’s director– Laurence des Cars — used to resign in the consequences … though the deal was eventually turned down.
